Check Out My Site

Here is a section of the paper I wrote about my blog. You can find the entire essay on my website:

THE PAPER

Before taking this class, I hardly even knew what blogging was. I understood that they were mini websites where people wrote about “stuff.” However, I had absolutely no idea what that “stuff” might be. So when I found out that I was going to have to keep a blog of my own, I was feeling a little overwhelmed. I didn’t know what to write about. According to Mark Bernstein I had to “write for a reason, and know why you write.” Unfortunately, I wasn’t even sure I had anything to say. And if I could think of something to say, did I want to let the world read it?

While you are looking at my paper, take a look at the rest of the site:

I FINALLY got a car

2001 Ford Focus four door sedan 93,000 miles on it. Good brakes, good tires. Only 2,000 dollars. What a steal.

What REALLY Happened?

Here is a link to a local story. It involves a woman who has gone missing. She was only two weeks away from giving birth when she disappeared. There seems to be very little evidence leading the authorities in the right direction. Read the story HERE.

A Small Piece of Advice

Today's post is simply a piece of advice from me: don't be afraid to throw stuff away. Like I mentioned in a previous entry, I am moving into an apartment in the fall. That means I have to move all of my stuff out of my parents house. So I've begun going through my stuff, trying to decide what I should keep and what I shouldn't. I have been finding stuff of mine from elementary school. I found my third grade social studies textbook. Now, I don't need something like that. The problem is, however, that I never threw stuff away. So do yourselves a favor: throw it away now, rather than later.

Why I love Pirates

I finally went to see Pirates of the Caribbean 3 this week. I thought that it was very entertaining, and that Johnny Depp once again nailed the pirate thing, but I felt that it didn't quite live up to the first two. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, but (and I honestly can't tell you why) but it seemed a little lost to me. As if it wasn't sure what its purpose was. But like I said, it was very entertaining, and I would definitely recommend it to those who liked the first two.

Birthday Cake!

I love candles. I love the way they look and the way they smell. I even love the sulfur-y smell you get when you blow the candles out. For my birthday last month I got a birthday cake scented candle. It really does smell like cake. Also, at Cold Stone Creamery, they have a birthday cake ice cream flavor. I highly recommend it, for it tastes just like cake. And now I will bring this cake centered post to and end.

Santa Claus

We all know that an actual, physical Santa Claus does not exist. There is no jolly old elf, dressed in red, that comes down the chimney on Christmas Eve. However, it amazes my how many little kids don't believe in Santa anymore. I will willingly admit to believing in Santa until I started high school. The question I have is: Is that a bad thing? What is wrong with believing in Santa Claus. In a way, I still believe in Santa. I sincerely believe in the spirit of Santa Claus. That giving nature that comes around every December. And I also believe that we should encourage children to believe in Santa Claus for as long as possible. Why deny them the joy of finding presents under the tree that say From: Santa on them?
